Date-Nut Bars

Ingredients:

¼ cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs, beaten

¾ cup flour

Pinch of salt

1 cup chopped dates

1 cup chopped pecans

¼ teaspoon baking powder

Directions:

Cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs, flour, baking powder and salt. Fold in dates and nuts.  Line pan with waxed paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.  Cut in finger shaped pieces and roll in powdered sugar while warm. They are best served cold.  We usually put them in a tupperware style box overnight in the refrigerator. They don’t have to stay in the fridge, just gives them a better taste!
