Spicy Cowboy Soup

Cowboy Soup

Ingredients:

1 ½ lb. hamburger

1 cup carrots

1 cup celery

2 cups onion (We used 1 cup or about ½ of an onion)

3 cans cream of celery soup or chicken broth (On this, we did a mixture.  If you want it really pretty - use the chicken broth, if you don’t care about looks use 1 can cream of celery and 2 cans of chicken broth)

2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon hot sauce

½ teaspoon pepper

1-quart tomatoes

¼ cup butter

½ cup flour



Directions:

Brown and drain hamburger meat, steam carrots, celery and onion for 15 minutes.  Add soup, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, pepper and tomatoes to hamburger, carrots, celery, and onion.  Bring to a boil for approximately 15 minutes. Melt ¼ cup butter; stir in flour and brown. Add to soup mixture slowly or mix with some of the soup liquid so it won’t lump.  Simmer 15 more minutes. You can add some cooked noodles to this as an option.
