This was my Mom’s - no written down recipe, no measurements, just handed down.

Ingredients:

1 lb hamburger meat, cooked and drained

½ small yellow onion

10 oz bag frozen peas

½ pound cooked pasta, linguini, angel hair, or spaghetti

Freshly sliced mushrooms - about half a box

Tomato sauce - one large can, or to taste

1 can whole tomatoes

1 4-6 Ounce bag of sliced almonds

Tomato Catsup

Worcestershire sauce

Butter

Shredded cheese - 1 two cup bag

Directions:

Chop onion in pieces and cook in butter until transparent, add hamburger meat and cook until done.  Drain and set aside.  In your same large skillet, wipe out, but do not wash, add a tablespoon of butter and mushrooms.  After butter is melted, place mushrooms in the skillet to cook, add a large dash of Worcestershire sauce, and when mushrooms are browned on both sides, add hamburger meat and onion mixture.  Add frozen peas, whole tomatoes, tomato sauce and a large dash of catsup to skillet, heat until peas are warm.  The mixture should resemble a good stew, if it doesn’t, it’s ok to add tomato juice or more sauce.  You could also add a catsup and water mixture - my Mom always seemed to do this when she had a nearly empty bottle, added water, shook it up, and poured into the mixture.

Place cooked pasta in a 9x13 pan, sprinkle it with half of your cheese.  Add meat mixture, and mix well.  Sprinkle remaining cheese over the top of the mixture and place into a preheated 350* oven until the cheese is bubbly like the top of a pizza.
