British Crown Vegetable Casserole

Ingredients:

½ 15-ounce can bean sprouts, drained very well

1 4-ounce can whole mushrooms, drained

1 4-ounce can water chestnuts, drained and chopped.

1 10 ¾ ounces can mushroom soup

1 10-ounce package frozen green peas, uncooked

1 stick butter, melted

½ pound sharp cheese, grated ¼ pound stirred in and ¼ sprinkled on top

Mix first 7 ingredients; place in casserole dish.  Sprinkle with cheese.  Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Note:  You may use the whole can of bean sprouts, but we thought the taste was too strong and overpowered the rest of the ingredients.  We recommend only using half the can of sprouts.  Make sure you drain them very well or use fresh sprouts.
