Green Devil Cake Recipe



Mix 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar with enough milk to make 1 cup. Stir. Let stand 5 minutes. Whisk flour, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Add melted chocolate, sour milk, tomatoes, butter, eggs, and grated peel to the mixture, beating with a mixer on low speed until combined. Beat on medium for an additional 2 minutes. Pour cake batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan, baking for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool cake completely. Drizzle chocolate glaze over cooled cake. If desired, top each serving with whipped cream, sprinkle cinnamon and berries, and garnish with orange peel.


Melt chocolate with butter over low heat. Stir in powdered sugar and hot water until glaze is of a drizzle consistency.

4 oz. Unsweetened chocolate, melted

1 cup Sour Milk*

1 cup Pureed Green Tomatoes

3/4 cup Butter, softened

2 Eggs

1 tbsp Grated Orange Peel



4 oz. Semi-sweet Chocolate

3 tbsp Butter

1 3/4 cup Sifted Powdered Sugar

3 tbsp Hot Water
