1 Reynolds Oven Bag (Large size)

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 cup maple syrup

½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar

1 (1 ounce) jar cinnamon sticks

⅔ cup apple juice or cider

6 Granny Smith or other baking apples, unpeeled and cored

Preheat oven to 350* (Prep time - 10 minutes)

Directions:

Place oven bag in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.  Add cornstarch to the bag, twist end of the bag closed, and shake. (You don’t HAVE to use the bag - but it sure does make a meeeesssssy clean up a whole lot better!) Open the bag and add syrup, apple juice, brown sugar, and 3 cinnamon sticks to bag.  Squeeze bag to blend ingredients. Add apples, arrange in an even layer. Place remaining cinnamon sticks in the center of each apple inside the bag. Close bag with nylon tie; cut 6 ½ inch slits in top of the bag. Bake at 350* for 35-40 minutes.  Makes 6 servings.
